01 Mar Of folk hearts – meet Alaska Gold Rush
And we couldn’t miss for nothing in the world the only date of an emergent Belgian altfolk duo in Le Marche. Precisely in Montecarotto. More precisely on a pub we just discovered for this event but we adore from first step in: vintage and located inside the towns’ walls. L’Osteria Sotto Le Mura: no need to tell how much it matches with the band’s style! It was so crowded we have to stitch at the cakes’ table…Coincidence? Luck?!
A part from amazing food and drinks…the Alaska Gold Rush totaly worth the hour of car we made. Even though at the beginning they seem two shy guys while roaming around guitars and drum on the stage, they suddenly warm the atmosphere when holding their microphone and sticks!
Folk but with a recognisable different style, mixing rock ascendents in more than one song, a thing we and the whole audience totaly appreciate! You should have seen little kids dancing in daddy’s harms (cuties!)! Even in more personal and quiet pieces, such as Silhouettes, the band never totaly gave up the catchy rythm.
What to say more?! We suggest you our favourite piece, Dirty Road (where the drummer almost bacame one thing with its drum, moving frantically his blonde hairs!…No easy job for a photographer!). Even though at every folk band concert my fave part is when the banjo comes out…And they palyed it too of course!
Thanks Alaska Gold Rush for the amazing night & we hope to hear you soon again! Italy loves your sound!
